Al Salam Palace is a landmark built in the 1960’s to accommodate visiting heads of state, which was harshly damaged in the 1990’s during the Iraqi invasion and was thought by many to be beyond repair. The Amiri Diwan then announced with great joy that the palace would be restored to its former beauty and magnificence.
We were briefed to collaborate with the consultants and contractors to work on the restoration. Our brief was to retain the palace’s original charm while integrating modern-day technology with the highest international standards – from the complete palace all the way to the palace garden, assuring that the best light sources would be utilized in order to maintain its glorious architecture and significance to Kuwait.
